• Administrative control of all activities in technical area
• Supervising the work of all technicians including quality assurance
• Providing training to colleagues and subordinate staff.
• Providing consultation to the physicians / attendants in interpreting test results.
• Writing opinion and interpretation of test results where required.
• Resolving customer complaints
• Ensuring smooth running of activities contributing to continued lab accreditation.
• Verifying and sign final test report.
• Taking Cytology / FNAC / PAP samples

• Supervising the work of their department technicians
• Ensure effective implementation of the Quality System in their department
• Preparing Test Procedures where necessary
• Ensuring the quality of test results generated
• Updating all documents and records in their department
• Providing in house training to subordinates as and when required
• Periodically assessing the subordinates w.r.to quality consciousness, quantity of work performed, discipline and overall behavior / attitude and suggest training needs

Radiologists use imaging technologies such as x-rays, ultrasounds, MRIs, PETs, and CTs to diagnose diseases, injuries, and other disorders in patients.

Do not confuse radiologists with radiologist technologists. Technologists are the professionals who operate the imaging technology, and radiologists are the ones who interpret the results.

• Ensuring proper housekeeping and following safety and precautions guidelines
• Managing department efficiently and effectively in line with Quality Policy, quality system documentation and carry out continual improvement of QMS;
• Carrying out all testing work as per laboratory’s standard methods only;
• Following quality control plan including control run/ calibration of test parameters and take timely corrective actions for nonconforming testing work, where needed;
• Monitoring status of all critical inputs (purchased supplies) strictly as per norms;
• Managing inventory of all critical inputs in coordination with stores in-charge.
• Handing over all QC records to Technical Manager for validation.
• Informing seniors of critical / alert results as and when observed.
• Ensuring that all test results are generated as per the specified turn around time or time committed to customer.
• Conducting in-house equipment maintenance as per schedule and keep them in up to date working conditions.

• Drawing patient blood samples in sample collection.
• Matching patient receipt with the prescription before sample collection
• Noting the diagnosis and relevant history of patient where required
• Looking after the overall housekeeping of the sample collection area
• Keeping the director informed on customer feedback / complaints
• Maintaining confidentiality of information regarding patients.

• Providing initial lab information to patient e.g tests, cost, preparation required, report delivery time etc
• Guiding patients to the sample collection area and provide information on patient preparation, where required
• Giving regular inputs to the lab director based on information/ complaints/ suggestions received from the customers and suggest scope of improvement.
• Be in touch with reporting / testing department for timely delivery of reports to patients
• Ensuring proper upkeep and housekeeping of the reception and waiting area
